For purchases of new materials

(from our consumer co-op)

Returns within 30 days

Most stock merchandise purchased in-store can be returned within 30 days in unused, like-new, 100% saleable condition and in the original manufacturer’s packaging. The receipt must accompany all returns. There is a 10% restocking fee.

Items purchased online are not returnable.

Custom-made products such as cabinetry, replacement windows, storm windows, and doors are not returnable.

Special orders are not returnable.

All damage and shortage claims should be made within 30 days.

Store credit will be issued for returns. All credits must be used within seven years of the date the credit is issued. After seven years, any remaining credit will be given to the Reuse Center at BBR as a charitable contribution.

Checks

There is a $25 returned check fee.

Third-party checks are not accepted.

Credit cards

There is a $5 minimum purchase for credit card transactions.

Online sales to members

Products on our website are sold at public (nonmember) prices. When a current BBR member purchases items online, at the public price, the member discount will be applied as a store credit that can be used for your next in-person purchase at the Co-op. Any credit remaining at the end of the year will be refunded to the member in the form of a mailed check.  

For Reuse Center purchases

No returns or exchanges

All sales are final. The Reuse Center at Boston Building Resources does not accept returns and does not issue store credit. Materials at the Reuse Center are purchased “as is,” with no warranties or guarantees, stated or implied.

Deposit policy

The Reuse Center is a cash-and-carry operation. In most cases, items should be paid for in full and taken away at the time of purchase. In the case of larger items, you may leave a 50% deposit either in person or by phone. Your items must be paid for in full and taken away before closing time two business days after your purchase. (Monday through Saturday are business days.) Kitchen cabinet sets must be paid for in full and taken away by 2:00 p.m. the Saturday immediately following your purchase. In fairness to our other customers, Boston Building Resources can not grant extensions on the pick-up time.

Fee for non-pickup

If you do not pay for and collect your purchase by the designated time, Boston Building Resources will make the items available to other customers and refund your deposit, less a 25% administrative fee. Refunds will be mailed from our administrative office within 10 business days of the intended pick-up date. There are no cash refunds or store credit.

Deliveries

BBR offers "curbside" delivery of materials for a fee.  Speak to a staff member for more information.

Workshop cancellations

If you cancel at least one week (seven days) before the class, we will refund half the cost of the class.

All other cancellations are nonrefundable and nontransferable.

Credit card purchases

There is a $5.00 minimum for credit and debit card purchases.

Membership fees

Membership fees are not refundable and may not be converted to store credit.
