Water and the Wooden House

This workshop has been cancelled.

The enemy of the wood-frame house is water. Learn how to spot water-related maintenance issues around your house and how to cope with and address the problems that moisture and water can cause to its structure. We will discuss seasonal ventilation strategies, options for improving site drainage, and traditional methods of directing water away from the house.

Joseph Cornish is the supervising stewardship manager for Historic New England and manages its highly regarded stewardship easement program. He is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and holds an MA in Preservation Studies from Boston University.
