Boston Building Resources carries a wide range of doors, windows, and related products. We have state-of-the-art, energy efficient designs and new styles on the cutting edge that help you preserve the architectural style of your home. All windows and doors are custom ordered, so you can have the style you want in the size you need.

We can install replacement windows, storm windows, and storm doors for you. You can also choose to do it yourself (take one of our workshops to learn how) or to find a contractor through our tradesperson referral file.

As your co-op, Boston Building Resources sells both replacement and new-construction windows from Harvey Building Products, Kolbe Windows & Doors, Andersen, Velux, AWSCO Architectural Millwork, and Boston Sash & Millwork. Our selection includes all-wood, aluminum-clad wood, fiberglass, and vinyl.

If you are looking for the highest levels of energy efficiency, you can order windows and doors from Kolbe’s VistaLuxe, Ultra Series, and Teutonic Series collections that meet the passive house standard (PHIUS certified), made in the USA.

You can purchase doors both “pre-hung” and “door only.” We offer interior and exterior doors in a variety of styles and sizes. Our selection of interior doors includes historically significant two- and five-panel fir, and four- and six-panel pine. We also carry Masonite Emerald and Safe-N-Sound molded doors with excellent green credentials in many styles.

Exterior doors can be ordered with a fully weatherstripped jamb and an attractive wood threshold. Fiberglass, Masonite, and Therma-Tru doors are popular choices for their energy-efficient properties. A new "green technology" wood door offering is the Torrefied line from Lemieux. The advanced wood treatment process makes these doors withstand exposure and weather conditions that damage other wood doors. Only Lemieux Torrefied doors come with a 20-year warranty for the most extreme conditions, including zero protective overhang, south-facing exposure, and painted black. Customers interested in keeping their existing door jambs may order the door only.

A high quality storm window will make a a refurbished existing wood double-hung window energy efficient. We are now offering storm windows by Coastal Industries of Haverhill, Massachusetts, and Mon-Ray of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Several different models are available; speak with a BBR staff member to discuss which one would meet your needs. (Harvey Building Products has phased out their Tru-Channel storm window.)

BBR offers a range of Andersen storm and screen combination doors. Options include the premium Estate line with many available styles and colors. This heavy-duty insulated storm door is available in large custom sizes and double-door configurations. Simple wood screen doors and wood and aluminum combination doors are also available.

A wide variety of storm doors are available from ProVia, which has five different lines to choose from and many colors available.

Security storm doors, made by Home Guard Industries, offer personal safety protection as well as protection from the elements. Made of heavy-duty 16-guage steel, these doors feature an extra-strength deadbolt and integral vault pins behind each hinge to resist tampering and breakage. A wide variety of styles and finishes is available, so you can choose one that complements the style of your home.
