Cabinetry
Boston Building Resources sells quality cabinets at a fair price. All our cabinets are custom-ordered, and one of our kitchen designers will work with you to explain the many options: wood species, door styles, finishes, and more. Four hours of design time is one of the benefits of BBR membership.
We sell cabinets manufactured by Breathe Easy Cabinetry, Candlelight Cabinetry, Custom Wood Products, Executive Cabinetry, New River Cabinetry, and Young Furniture. These trusted manufacturers make high-quality products and also provide excellent customer service. Most of our manufacturers are located in the Northeast, so the environmental impact of shipping is minimal. Boston Building Resources is the only retailer in the city carrying the Breathe Easy line of “green” cabinets.

- MDF (medium density fiberboard)
Wood choices
- Bamboo is rapidly renewable, but shipped from China
- Exotic veneers may be endangered species
- Maple, oak, cherry, and birch are usually North American
Finishes, stains, and paints
- Water-based finishes are the only low-VOC options available
- Or, order unfinished and use your own water-based finishes
FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification
- Like an organic label; means wood or construction is certified to be sustainably harvested or produced
