The kitchen is the heart of one’s home, and this two-part workshop will cover everything you need to know to design a kitchen that fits your lifestyle. In Part 1, we start with a basic floor plan and cover the myriad of variables that must be considered for a kitchen layout: appliance standards, door and window openings, storage needs, budget, and more. Designing a kitchen can seem overwhelming at first, but taken step by step, it is fun and exciting to create a design that suits your family’s needs and budget. This popular class fills up quickly! Bathroom renovations involve many decisions that balance budget concerns with the features you want. This workshop will cover flooring choices that make sense for your renovation, choosing tile, finding extra storage in a tight space, how resale of your home affects your design, ways to avoid mold and other maintenance problems, and finding ways to reduce your budget. We will take a start-to-finish slide-show tour of a recent project to better understand the process. Bring your questions and send pictures so we can include them in the slide show.
